No, I am not on vacation. I am on a vacation with pain as I told my friend recently. I went to NYC for work this past weekend. My friend Dawn her partner Cathy, and I were on a bus trip for our job. We walked all over the city and had a great time. But, then I stopped walking for a moment, and turned my right leg and felt a pop and some pain. About an hour later, I could't walk. Two days later at the doctor's I had my knee drained (lots of grossness!)
I just got back from the MRI. What an experience. I had no happy pills and my body was in a very small hole. My fat was almost chocking me as I had to lay on my back and my boobs were strangling my neck. But, thanks to Barry Manilow's CD blasting in my ears, I survived.
Now I wait until friday to find out if I need surgery. The best part of this week; I'm on my couch just chilling and watching tv, reading books, and making jewelery. Not bad for a week out of work with pain.

Vinny
This month, November 6th, a friend of mine died. We knew each other for the past 3 years and briefly had a little romance. I did like him. "He was my bad boy", as one of my friends pointed out.
A month later I saw him kissing another one of the cast mates and my like for him was over. But, I think he got his just desserts when that girl became his stalker. It was funny. Sometimes there were three woman at the same time in the show we were in, and I would look at him and laugh. He told me I was enjoying his misery. I said NO. I'm enjoying watching you get away from this.
The good thing about him was his hugs. You just felt safe in his arms. The bad thing about him was his lies. I could never know if he was telling me the truth or making something up as he went along. I wanted to believe him; but I never did. I just made him think I did. I believe sometimes if you like someone you do not tell them their faults. This was a hard lesson to learn, as I did like him alot.

I almost quit
I am in a improv play called Joey & Maria's Comedy Italian Wedding. The first time I was in it-I lasted for 6 years, playing the role of Louisa, the "happy, loose girl" if you get my drift. I quit for four years to get elected to the Board of Education in my town...and then went I lost re-election. (I ran as an indepdent, instead of a Republican, for obvious reasons) I went back.
I have been in the play for , almost 3 years and have thought of giving notice, or taking a break...and yesterday I decided to do just that. I emailed the power that be, and three of my friends in the show. WOW. If I thought I wasn't loved, or wanted, I was very wrong. I received emails, and phone calls and tales of how much fun we have, and how much the audience loves us and how wonderful I am. It was very good for my ego. Maybe that is all I needed. Or, maybe I just wanted to sit on my couch w/o my bra for a few more days before my schedule really picks up.
For now, I am still in a wonderful play called J&M for short. You should check it out. We are at the Chowderpot in Hartford. For tickets call 1-800-See Joey.

Do you wonder?
This morning I was reading about all of the celebrities that smoke. The one person who struck me as odd was Eva (Desperate Housewives) and thought, she smokes too? You never really know anyone in the media's spotlight glare. But, the true test of someone and how they deal with life is if they are organized. Here are a few ways and places to know if you are okay.
If you are organized, you might have a touch of OCD.(I know I do. As my cousin pointed out one night, as we moved furniture into her home. But, I knew the moment I as confused as to how to mount my David Cassidy posters. So, I did it in groups: The Partridge Family, Shirtless, Autographed and with someone else. Now, I that I do scrapbooks, I have David Cassidy, My life in the theater, and Disney World. My winter plan is to make one just for things that make me laugh. Letters, Photos, birthday cards, or notes will be in there. Anything that has made me laugh in the past 4 decades of my life. (yes, I'm 48 and proud of it too.)
If you aren't organized; you have a clutter problem and a problem dealing with grief. But, there is a host of things in between that too...

August
I love this time of the year. It is hot, but with the air conditioning in my home, car and work it is fine to wear long sleeves. It is the time of year when people are moving a little slower and gearing up for the back to school sales. Paper, pencils and erasures are on sale. As a youngster and teenager, I would love to go into Plimptons and just look around. Plimptons is an old fashion Staples or Office Max. It has (and had) everything I ever wanted. I would buy something and take it home to my office drawer. Sometimes, when I am sad I open the drawer and just look at the legal pads, pens, post-it notes and envelopes. It brings me happiness to know I have these things in storage. A few years ago for my birthday, my friend David bought me a gift certificate to Staples. I don;t know if I am the only person who loves getting Staples gift certificates for a present-but I know I am the only person who has posted about her love of office supplies...at least today in this blog. Have a great end of summer and we will see you here in September.

Les Mess with Rosie O'Donnell (sort of)
Leslie Jacobs, owner of Les Is More, a professional organizing business, has received word that her organizing game “Les Mess”, will be in the play room on board the Norwegian Cruise Line when R Vacations (Rosie O’Donnell’s’ partner, Kelli O’Donnell, is a co-founder of R Family Vacations) goes on their summer jaunt.
Les Mess is a card game for children designed to motivate them to clean up their rooms and keep them clutter-free. Jacobs researched whom to send her game to and soon found a company that was in charge of the freebies for the cruise. Last week Jacobs sent Les Mess games for the many children on the cruise. They are expected to take them home with them at the end of the 7 day vacation.
Growing up, Leslie Jacobs’ bedroom was an organizing dream. Her David Cassidy photos were so even, they looked like wall paper. But she thought everyone was organized like her. That was until the spring of 1999, when she walked into her Cousin Sheila’s kitchen and opened a cabinet. Plastic Tupperware came tumbling out and Jacobs asked if she could organize them. The entire kitchen was organized a few hours later, and Sheila was explaining how Jacobs could turn her talent into a business. Twenty-four hours later, Les Is More was born.
Jacobs has also just created Les Mess for MEN. The men cards are more “intense” than the children’s one—and also includes blank cards so the person who buys the game can put their own requests on the cards.
To get your copy of Les Mess, or Les Mess for MEN, go to www.lesmess.com

Tuesday.Tuesday
I'm sick of all politicans. I'm done with them all. They don;t care about us, the middle class--all they care about is getting re-elected again. They do not have the courage of their convictions. They are all (local, state and national) wiennies! I have known alot of the local and state ones for a very long time...and with gas prices over 3.20 a gallon, and the war waging on---I have decided I'm not going to support any politican for anything---NO ONE IS GETTING MY MONEY...and when they ask I will tell them. YOU have not done anything for me, why should I do something for you.
When they tell me they can not do anything about gas prices...I will tell them: Until you do, I will put my money in my gas tank. Thank you and good BYE.
On another note: Rosie O'Donnell gets it.

Monday, Monday
Did you ever walk into work and just hear sounds that had nothing to do with anyone? Or, is that a sound that is a voice that just drowns on? Oh well, it's a monday. Saw the movie Office Space over the weekend...and Saturday Night Fever since I was on the couch the entire weekend. I was very sick (I felt like I had the flu---the body aches, the fever and the blahs. I still feel like a could take a long nap)
Both movies were depressing for obvious reasons.
In my mind there is a song by the Boomtown Rats that said, I hate Mondays. It was based on a girl coming into school on a Monday and blowing away a few classmates. Her reason for doing this? she didn't like Mondays.
I don't like Mondays either...But I am praying for Finanacial Freedom...so I will like Mondays again.

NO to QVC, But YES to Millions
QVC said no. But, that means I am much closer to my first yes. Life has been very busy these past three months (March,April and May). First, the great news is my kitchen is finished. Done, with handles and paint. The hole looks great, the color is wonderful and I love my kitchen. Now, I am going to start the bathroom. Maybe, in a little while.
My business is going well. Even though QVC said no, I am going forward and sending out games to newspapers and magazines in an effort to get major publicity for the game. I also found out that the game is wonderful for austic children since it's stable and gives goals in the process. How did I find this out? Well, I have a client with two austic children (the best behaved children and so affectionate) and I gave the game to her. She told me it works. Now, I am sending it to other austic sites and just hoping I can help.
In the summer an article on the two children and their family with me as the organizer will be in Home Living CT. and a small article will be in a national magazine called Going Bonkers. I can hardly wait!

A March UPDATE
Well, it has been a very hectic two months since the last time I blogged. (Is that a word?...it is now!) Marty, the guy who ripped me off is now not so bad, as my business partner did rip me off of over 2,700 dollars. Now, my advice to you is :GET IT IN WRITING!!!!!!!!! Everything. Everything. Everything. My business partner Lorraine; decided since she couldn't afford to pay taxes on the 6,000 she made on the condo--that she would make me do it. But, I should have realized that she was out to get me when she said: You are very easy to take advantage of...and I said, if someone takes advantage of me, they have to live with themselves. She told me, people can.
Now, on to better topics: My game Les Mess. This game is the only one that teachers children how to get organized and live clutter free. (www.lesmess.com) I am going to QVC to pitch it next week. Then, in two weeks I am going to see The View and give it to them and from those two appearances, it will get national attention.
I got tickets to Rachel Ray last week and went this past Monday. I went with people from work: Mary and her daughter Tracy. They were great to hang out with. I just wish my boss Jean could have come...but she had meetings that day. And, we eat at Jeckal & Hyde...a wonderful resturant...but dark, I couldn;t see what I was eating...and I do like to see it before I put it in my mouth...goes for everything!
Well, Happy Spring...and email me I would love to chat with all of you.

Forget Smoking--It's new Life Time
I acutally quit smoking for 13 days...which I think is great. But, then I started to gain weight and wanted to smoke--so I decided for the next six months I am changing my ways of food. I am going low fat, with some exercise and not eating after 7pm. I am going to limit my intake of not only food, but that one culprit---Sweets...Yes, it's true I do have a sweet tooth and I have induldged alot in my life--too much--so it is now time to pay the piper and to re examine my life and to not eat everything in sight--just the proper amount. Yes, it's a diet of sorts--but I will just be on this the rest of my life. I can do it. I will do it and if you have any tips of how to KEEP on doing it--please let me know. Besides, when The View calls, I do not want to be fat...

Happy New Year & 3
Today is the third day of the New Year and I feel Great. I have quit smoking and although I crave it and want it---I have said NO. I have decied to update my condo with a few projects to put my nervous energy to work. I have stencilled my bedroom and will re-paint it this week. I have also fixed up my kitchen and will have a new microwave installed this weekend...and most important I have not only saved money-but am helping my health get better. What else can I ask for in this wonderful new year???????? Well, alot.
I want my Les Mess game and my Les Mess for Men game to be on The View and The Rachel Ray Show--but I do not know how to go about getting national coverage. I also have created a Top Ten Cluttered Characters for people to comment on--but I do not know how to get national coverage for that either. Will you help me? Email me at lesliefjacobs@yahoo.com if you know anybody in the national media and can hook me up. I promise you I will help you with getting organized and clutter-free. Thank you!
